  9.  AB    OBJECTIVE: Current HIV treatment information is available to a small
  10.        group of individuals. The Project Inform Town Meeting is a model for the
  11.        dissemination of treatment information to ever increasing numbers of
  12.        people. METHODS: Project Inform utilizes both slides and overheads in
  13.        the presentation of information. The Town Meeting speaker is trained for
  14.        the presentation of a fixed program. The program is constantly updated
  15.        by treatment information specialists within the Project Inform
  16.        organization. The Town Meetings sites are chosen by HIV prevalence
  17.        demographics and population cores. RESULTS: The Project Inform Town
  18.        Meeting is a successful means of distributing current cutting-edge
  19.        treatment information. One measure of this success is the number of
  20.        phone calls for additional information our hotline receives after a Town
  21.        Meeting. A continued increase in the use of Project Inform's hotline and
  22.        requests for written information is demonstrative of the success of the
  23.        Town Meeting model. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: The Project Inform Town
  24.        Meeting is a model for the delivery of HIV treatment information to
  25.        large audiences. The Town Meeting model can be translated to audiences
  26.        with multicultural backgrounds. Project Inform is dedicated to the
  27.        continuation and strengthening of the Town Meeting model.
